The brief
Ritz-Carlton Destination Club needed an interactive digital sign for its guests and members. Working under contract with Four Winds Interactive, a digital signage company, the task was to create a touch-screen application that people could walk up to and use with no instructions.
The experience had to match the polish of the Ritz-Carlton brand and feel familiar from the first touch.
The approach
The application was designed to work like an iPhone app, the touch interface most visitors already knew.
- Familiar touch navigation. Large touch targets, simple screens and tap-to-open sections let guests move through the content the same way they would on their phone.
- Designed for a public screen. Content was organized into short, clear sections, so a passing guest could find what they wanted in a few taps and step away.
- Brand-first presentation. The look and motion followed the Ritz-Carlton style, so the sign felt like part of the property rather than a piece of technology.
The outcome
Ritz-Carlton Destination Club received a touch-screen digital sign that guests could use right away, with navigation as intuitive as a smartphone app. The project brought an interactive, on-brand experience to the club's physical spaces.
